Official Notes for Free Fire OB49 Update: News and Changes

Folks, the OB49 update for Free Fire is arriving with a bang! A brand new map, major tweaks to Battle Royale and Contra Squad, revamped characters, more lethal weapons, and tons of new system features to take your gameplay to the next level. Let’s dive into the details and get ready to dominate!

Map: Solara Has Arrived to Dominate!

Get ready for this sunny adventure!

Welcome to Solara, a bustling port city full of summer vibes! With streets packed with jacaranda flowers, stunning tropical scenery, massive mountains, and rails for sliding, this map is pure adrenaline. There’s even a Ferris wheel for that fun outing feel! Solara mixes frantic action with crazy strategies, perfect for those who love to explore and conquer.

  • Unique style: Solara combines futuristic, realistic visuals with subtle touches, using vibrant colors in blue, white, and yellow. Inspired by coastal cities, the map features canyons, waterfalls, and jacaranda trees. Each corner has its own vibe:
    • Roliúde: A film set with scenic buildings and two steam trains racing against each other. Ideal for ambushes and tactical plays!
    • Laboratory: A symmetrical area with mirrored rails. Use the rails to reposition quickly and surprise enemies.
    • Floresópolis: A winding street full of flowers, with S-curves and jacarandas. It’s beautiful, but don’t get distracted!
    • Piscinão: A sewer station with yellow pipes full of secret routes. Stay alert, because there might be campers lurking!
  • Insane mobility: Solara is packed with rails and stations for fast movement. While sliding, special Gel Walls protect you, and if enemies are nearby, the rail turns red to warn you.
  • Ranked BR and CS: The map arrives in both modes! In the first week, you won’t lose points on your first defeat of the day in Ranked BR or stars in Ranked CS.
  • Special event in CS: Matches on Solara will have two consecutive rounds in the same area, with spawn point swaps between teams.

Characters: Turbocharged Abilities!

Character in action

Revamped Paloma

The queen of firepower is back with a new look!

Paloma lost some shine with the backpack changes, but now she’s back stronger than ever! Her new ability focuses on precision and destroying Gel Walls, ideal for taking out campers.

Fatal Shatter: Destroy a Gel Wall and gain +10s of precision on your weapons.

Character Balancing

Ignis: Fire Up the Playground!

The fire wall is even deadlier!

Ignis already caused chaos with his fire wall, but now he’s even more ferocious. With more power, he’ll be the terror of Bermuda!

Fire Wall: Creates a 10m fire wall lasting 10s, moving at 6m/s for 5s → 8s. Use again to stop the wall. Enemies (or Gel Walls) take 25 (or 400) initial damage and 5 (or 100 → 150) per second for 2s. Cooldown: 60s. Up to 2 charges, with 0.5s between uses.

Lila: Gel Walls to Go Around!

Never run out of cover again!

Lila is now the best friend of snipers. Her ability doubles Gel Walls, ensuring cover in any long-range shootout.

Gel-Freeze Strike: Hit enemies or vehicles with rifles or snipers to slow them by 10% (or 80% for vehicles) for 3s. If you take down a slowed enemy, they freeze for 3s and you gain 1 → 2 Gel Walls.

Lauqueta: Shield Just Right!

Balance between early and late game!

Lauqueta still encourages rushing, but now with balancing so it doesn’t get overpowered. More stacks, but less shield per elimination.
